The Titanic and Remembering
In the early hours of April 15th 1912 the titanic sank to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean.
Almost 114 years later we saw parts of that ship in an exhibition.
It was unimaginable to the people from 1912 that something like that could ever happen to the most luxurious ship.
We talked about this topic and our experience with the exhibition in our
podcast episode from January 9th 2026 with the title “Do You Remember The Titanic?”.
We saw how the ship was built, looked at the rooms of 1st and 3rd class passengers,
learned more about the stokers and trimmers in the boiler rooms, we could try out how long we could leave our hand on ice,
climbed some of the beautiful staircase and read through countless accounts of that voyage.
While on our way through the different areas of the ship we could look at actual artifacts from the wreck.
We didn’t judge and we instead just listened to the accounts and artifacts and what they had to tell.
In the podcast we went deeper into the topic of remembrance,
how important it is to us humans to be remembered, and how amazing the experience was for remembering.
In fact, it questioned our beliefs about how a dramatic event like the Titanic catastrophe can and should be remembered.
That is because the exhibition offered a special perspective for each visitor.
When entering the facility everyone got a ticket resembling a boarding pass from 1912 – with a name on it from an actual passenger.
You could see the exhibition through the eyes of “your” passenger:
How did their quarters look like (depending on the class)?
Where and what did they eat? Can you find artifacts or quotes from them?
In the end of the exhibition, you saw a wall with all the passengers and the crewmembers and if they made it out alive or not.
You started remembering that one person.
Everyone who went there has a card with a name on it and they carry that story with them.
And it becomes something collective.

Broadening your Horizon with Languages
Hey guys, it's Tim here.
In the picture you see two of the books I'm currently reading.
One of them is in Spanish and the other one is in Swedish.
Two languages I'm studying and I really enjoy both the languages and the books.
The interesting part is that I probably would have never picked up any of these books if it weren't for the language they are written in.
Nonetheless, they shape the perspective I have on the world.
I find it so fascinating to see how my journey of studying languages has shaped and influenced my life.
And I'm really looking forward to seeing what else will happen in the future.
Learn more about Simmi's and my passion for languages in this weeks podcast episode.

Generating great Ideas
Do you know the feeling?
You have to do a task, or you want to write something great, but then...
No idea is forming in your brain.
That and how to fix it was the topic of this week’s podcast episode.
Generating ideas is as easy as it is hard... seems confusing but let me explain.
When you want to generate ideas, you can use different methods.
One is the well-known mind map; another is the brain dump (free writing has the same principle).
But at some point, you get to a halt.
You entered the valley of despair.
That is completely normal, and you must push through to get to better ideas.
For that get everything out of your system, I mean it, write everything down.
Don’t think about the quality of your ideas, we are just going to focus on the quantity right now.
If you feel like nothing is coming to you anymore take a break.
Go out in nature and take a walk.
That can help to get new inspiration.
It also takes your focus away and lets your thought wander. We want that.
Another thing that could help here is meditation.
Just sitting somewhere without putting anything into your brain can just be the thing to spark new ideas.
If nothing of these suggestions helps.
Don’t despair there are some more.
One is the technique of transferring ideas.
Here you look at something you experienced or how you handled a situation
and transfer it to the situation or project you are in right now.
Another technique is that you get inspired by other works of fiction or other experiences.
This should help you to get through the valley of despair to the other glowing side of amazing ideas.

Journaling in Ebbs and Flows
In our latest podcast episode we were talking about journaling.
In this blog post I want to go a little bit deeper on how journaling looks for me.
You see a picture here of the journal and the fountain pen I am using.
It's already my fourth journal and I am still using the exact same type.
They all look the same even though some are more worn than others.
I'm also still using the fountain pen I got myself in 2020 when I was starting journaling.
You will see an interesting statistic below this post that shows the number of pages I wrote each month since I started.
I mentioned on the podcast having had different phases in the past with more or less journaling within certain periods of time - there you'll see what I meant!
I find it really interesting to see how everything has developed and that paths are usually not perfect.
So, don't beat yourself up if you coudn't motivate yourself yet to get started with journaling or if you started once but lost track since then.
It's always possible to turn an ebb into a new flow.

We will pay attention to make every post valuable for you.
We'll see you in a few days, when we make the first post following this new concept...
